Privacy Policy

The short version: the apps don't track you, there is no analytics on this site, and we hold as little as we can get away with. The rest of this page says exactly what that means.

1. What the apps collect

Nothing. The apps we distribute carry no analytics, no crash reporting to us, no usage tracking and no advertising code. They do not report what you open, what you edit, or what is on your Mac.

2. What the Hub sends

The PureApps Hub makes network requests only for these reasons:

• The app catalogue. It fetches pureapps.dev/api/apps.json to know which apps exist and what the current versions are. This is a plain file request and carries no identifier of you or your Mac.
• Downloads. When you install or update an app, the Hub downloads the disk image from files.pureapps.dev.
• Licence checks, once paid subscriptions are live. The Hub will send your licence key and a one-way hash of a machine identifier, so a subscription can be tied to a limited number of Macs. It will not send your name, your email, your serial number, or a list of what you have installed.

Like any web request, these reach our host with your IP address attached. We do not use those requests to build a profile of you.

3. What we hold, and who else is involved

• Lemon Squeezy handles payment and is the merchant of record. They collect your email, billing details and tax location under their own privacy policy. We see your email address, your subscription status and your licence key. We never see your card number.
• Cloudflare hosts this site, the download files and our licensing endpoint. Their edge servers keep short-lived request logs, which include IP addresses, as part of running and protecting the service.
• Apple is involved whenever you run a signed app: macOS may check notarization with Apple's servers. That exchange is between your Mac and Apple, and we receive nothing from it.
• Email. If you write to us, we keep the message so we can answer it and remember the context if you write again.

4. What we don't do

• No analytics or tag managers on this website.
• No advertising, and no sale or rental of personal data. Ever.
• No marketing email unless you ask for it.
• No profiles or automated decisions made about you.

5. How long we keep it

Subscription and licence records are kept while your subscription is active and afterwards for as long as tax and accounting rules require. Support email is kept while it is useful and then deleted. Server logs at our host are short-lived and are not used for anything beyond operating the service.

6. Your rights

You can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or ask for a copy. Write to [email protected] and we will answer. Deleting your licence record ends the subscription it belongs to, because the two are the same record.

Payment records held by Lemon Squeezy are requested from them directly, since they are the merchant of record.

7. Children

PureApps is not aimed at children and we do not knowingly collect data from them.

8. Changes

If this policy changes, the date at the top changes with it. A change that affects what we collect will be announced on the site, not slipped in.
